The Best Escapes In Scandinavia - Larsson & Jennings | Official Store

The Best Escapes In Scandinavia

If there is one #slowmoments travel destination out there that promises pure nature experinces and relaxation, it must certainly be the Nordic countries. With vast landscapes and its stunning and diverse scenery, Scandinavia invites to explore, relax and escape the hustle and bustle of the city. Our favourite go-to places? Find out more below... I. Hamnøy, Norway Located on the Lofoten Islands in beautiful Norway, Hamnøy counts itself to one of the oldest fishing villages in the area. And although wifi has made it inside the typically Scandinavian-designed houses, the nature outside has remained absolutely untouched. The absolute highlight are the auroras which you will find in Norway during 7 months from late September to late March/ early April. Where to stay? How about a cozy waterfront cabin with fireplace and beautiful sea view? II. Kullaberg, Sweden Looking for a more guided adventure? Visit Kullaberg in the South of Sweden for whale safaris or hikes through the wild nature reserve. If you want this trip to be a really special highlight, stay in Falknästet, 'The falcon's nest', which is a one bedroom lighthouse offering a view that you probably won't ever forget... III. Ivalo, Lapland, Finland Autumn is said to be one of the best times for an escape to Finland. If you want nature, snow, aurora lights and wild animals combined with a little luxury, your go-to destination is Aurora Village in Ivalo. The cabins with panorama view promise to be the perfect oasis to relax. Ice-karting, snow shoe activities and husky rides are set to give you the ultimate Nordic experience.

Designers' Quotes To Inspire - Larsson & Jennings | Official Store

Designers' Quotes To Inspire

Looking for creative design inspiration? Renowned designers such as David Carson and Marian Bantjes are not only impressing us with their fantastic portfolios, but also with their words. We have collected some of our favourite quotes by some of the best graphic designers the world knows... I. Milton Glaser “There are three responses to a piece of design – yes, no, and WOW! Wow is the one to aim for.” II. David Carson “Graphic design will save the world right after rock and roll does.” III. Paula Scher “It’s through mistakes that you actually can grow. You have to get bad in order to get good.” IIIV. Marian Bantjes “But I find that for myself, without exception, the more I deal with the work as something that is my own, as something that is personal, the more successful it is.”  V. Neville Brody “Digital design is like painting, except the paint never dries.”

Minimal Design: Make Space to Create - Larsson & Jennings | Official Store

Minimal Design: Make Space to Create

Sometimes less is more, don't you agree? Or wait, isn’t it more with less? Either way, the global trend of minimalism has been one of the biggest ones in the design world for a long time now. A clean aesthetic using the maximum amount of white space and a minimal style can leave space for endless opportunities when it comes to creativity and personal interpretation, just like a blank piece of paper.  With mere fundamental elements and simple or little colour, expressive typography and photography, details can truly be brought to live. And those details are not just the details. Instead they make the design. Another aspect that comes with minimalism is the creation of purpose for colour. Black and white spaces combined with 2 or less colours can highlight these and give them a special role. When it comes to our watches, we believe that focusing on detail and a sleek design always creates the perfect watch layout. Clean, simple, beautiful: Minimalism can be a source of true inspiration for more... Or less? You decide.

Everyone who feels homely around clean lines and neutral colour palettes combined with natural materials must be a fan of Scandinavian interior design. Whether the inspiration lies in Sweden, Norwegian or Denmark: Scandinavian design always seems to find the perfect balance between aesthetics and functionalities. And as our British heritage is deeply connected with the Scandinavian minimalism and sleek design that Larsson & Jennings stands for, we have collected some of our favourite L&J Scandi interior inspiration for you... “Scandinavian style is characterised by three key components – functionality, simplicity and beauty.
