Celebrating National Simplicity Day
July 12th is National Simplicity Day, in memory of environmentalist, author, and poet - Henry David Thoreau. Together with contemporary transcendentalists, he advocated that living a simpler life helps one get in touch with knowledge about the self, “transcending” all external forces in their lives.
With the above in mind, why not take a moment on July 12th to step away from the your busy day-to-day lives, and explore the elements of your life that are most important to you. "How?" you ask? Read below!

Live Life Offline
Why not try to challenge yourself; take a break from your computer and smartphone for a day. Pick up and read a good book, have a picnic, or bask in the sun, you'll see how surprisingly refreshing it can be!

Marie Kondo Is Right
Do you ever feel like you have too much stuff in your home? Take a page out of Marie Kondo's book and use Simplicity Day as a chance to declutter - take a hard look at your belongings and think about donating anything that isn't necessary or doesn't bring you joy. It's amazing how much more comfortable you can feel in your own home!

Let Yourself Unwind
Between the rush of jobs, schools, workouts, social outings etc. it's easy to feel stressed. Give yourself a day to appreciate your own #slowmoments, get away from distractions and enjoy the outdoors; at a park, in the woods or by the lake will do just fine.
Give yourself the gift of time. Time to recenter, recalibrate and refresh.
