How do you fuse edgy urban vibes with clean Scandinavian minimalism in your style?
I like adding chunky, slouchy, or messy details and pieces to an otherwise clean and simple Scandi outfit. Statement jewellery in silver or stainless steel is my absolute favourite. I also adore a slightly worn-out vintage bag or oversized jacket. It’s all about styling vs. just wearing!
How would you describe the style and culture of Boston, and how has it influenced your personal aesthetic?
I would describe Boston’s style as casual, laid-back, and functional. Boston is not the most fashion-forward city, you’ll have to go to NY for that. I have noticed that the Bostonians tend to wear what they want and prioritise dressing for the New England weather. Copenhageners also dress for the weather but are generally more intentional with their clothing choices and putting it together in a way that looks effortless.
My own personal aesthetic is still influenced by Copenhagen, where I’m from, and I would say that I’ve carried the Scandinavian style with me to Boston. While I appreciate Boston’s more relaxed outlook on fashion, my style remains rooted in the simplicity and thought-out ‘effortlessness’ that I love about the Scandinavian style.
What’s your go-to accessory or outfit piece that instantly adds an edgy twist to any look?
Again—jewellery pieces in silver and stainless steel! The silver just adds something that gold can’t quite achieve in the same way when it comes to anything edgy.
Are there places in Boston that match your bold, raw aesthetic and inspire your looks?
Tatte Bakery is a café chain in Boston that I enjoy going to. Their interior is simple, white, and bright with big open windows and rustic dark brown tables, chairs, and light fixtures. The clean, minimalist vibe, paired with these kinds of industrial touches, resonates with my own aesthetic and how I like to add ‘bolder’ details to an otherwise simple, clean look.
Which piece from Larsson & Jennings gives you that perfect statement edge, and how do you style it?
I like the Boyfriend Mini Lumous in silver (though I also have it in the mixed silver/gold version for a different vibe). It’s clean, simple, and the perfect size. I style it with my everyday silver rings and my own handmade chunky chain bracelet.
Tell us your favourite quote!
My favourite quote right now is probably, ‘I am my own muse. I am the subject I know best. The subject I want to better.’
How has your look evolved over time? Are there any edgy trends you’ve embraced or left behind?
My style or wardrobe has become more intentional, I would say. I like having a capsule wardrobe with versatile pieces I can mix and match and that will last me a long time. One ‘edgy’ trend I’m obsessed with is the distressed or ‘used’ look. I love a weathered brown (faux!!) leather jacket and the same goes with the ‘cowboy/biker combination’ boots. They’re perfect pieces for adding to any otherwise 'clean' Scandi look.
